It is Christmas Eve and Amaryllis, a little girl, is all tucked in for bedtime. Her mother is telling her a story, The Night Before Christmas while she is waiting on Amaryllis to fall asleep. Amaryllis becomes very enthused the minute she hears her mother speak of "sugar plums." From this point on, she becomes aware of her true Christmas wish.
Scene 1 will require a tutu, a baton, a thick head band, a teddy bear, a blonde doll, a jack-in-the-box, a spinning top, a decorated box with a bow, and a pair of toddler-sized ballet shoes. scene 2 will require a small prop christmas tree. most of these items can be found at toy stores everywhere. the rest can be found at any arts and crafts store.
