Description: Every time someone makes a promise to her and breaks it, Susie writes it on a slip of paper and puts it in her "Broken Promises" box. Grand Pa notices that the box is getting quite full and convinces her to trade it in for the kinds of promises that will NEVER be broken!

Materials: 1. a decorated shoebox filled with multi-colored, small pieces of paper sits on the ledge of the middle stage. the side facing the audience has a large label that says “broken promises,” the side facing the puppets has a label that says “new promises.” 2. narrator will need several medium size pieces of paper and a felt tip pen.
