Q: Why do you write puppet scripts? What motivates you?
Daily experiences and activities at church serve as great inspiration. One just has to relax and recognize the opportunities.
Q: Tell us about your church or puppet organisation.
3 of us have expanded our program as well as designed and constructed our own stage which has been a great benefit to our fledgling program.
Q: How did you get started in puppets and what attracted you to this area?
Previous Church youth group we constructed our own puppets. This gave the opportunity to "grow" with the puppet and develop it characteristics, voice, mannerisms and such.
Q: Where does your inspiration come from to write puppet scripts?
Daily experiences
Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting out in puppetry?
Life itself provides great themes, use them, don't be afraid. We have gotton more compliments from the senior citizens in church than the children whom are oftne the primary focus. So just jump in and do it.
Q: Who are your favourite puppet characters and what do you like about them?
I have 2. 1 is a desert nomad goat (zach) a often misguided puppet that has great enthusiasm yet can go on soem wild tangents. #2 is an orange monster as yet unnamed, not one of God's brighter stars but he is dependable and a true child of God.
Q: What are the most important qualities in great puppet scripts?
Short concise and strong in message.
Q: What would you do if you were a puppet?
Pray that i would be used every Sunday in some part of the service. I like the response form the congregants.
