it teaches this lesson.... (Rated by: talliej) Posted January 23 2005

"Remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy." Exodus 20:8, which is our children's church Bible verse this week. Thanks for the skit! It'll work great!
Decision Making (Rated by: Marsha Hendricks) Posted October 26 2004

Rating: 10

I think this skit was written with much thought and concern for the young person making an important decision. It isn't easy for a young person today to make the right decision with someone telling them what to do. To choose on their own, they WILL serve Him instead of rebelling against Him. Thanks David.
Boy, this is awful (Rated by: Anonymous) Posted July 3 2004

My church advocates ministry over obedience. We would rather go out to a public place and win souls rather than sit together in agreement. Regardless of the day. And it's boring, this play is boring.

This is wonderful. It is the first skit I read on this website and I have chosen to use it for Word of Life TEEN'S INVOLVED in Jacksonville, FL. (www.wol.org) I can't be any more pleased. Thanks for providing this material.

God is only in church, eh? Phill is absolutely right about those indulgences, too. Clearly the Reformation dealt with that problem of indulgences 500 years ago. Good lesson.

I like Grandpa. My kind of codger. The same kind of guilt trips you expect from a codger, too. What I really liked was the "Black Sox" reference. It's so nice to see a script refer to Chicago's *real* team and not those annoying northsiders. I'd pursue the baseball angle for another script, or pick up KGB again.
Legalistic??? (Rated by: Phill) Posted October 1 2003

I have to totally disagree with Angela. This teaches an extremely valuable lesson.Too many times we put God aside for insignificant indulgences. If you don't think God is sometimes dissapointed with us for choosing to do something rather than go to church then you don't know God.
Good lesson? (Rated by: Angela McIntyre) Posted October 1 2003

This is a well-written script. My only concern is that it teaches a questionable lesson. Do you really want children to think of God as disappointed because they choose to go to a baseball game instead of church? Seems a bit legalistic. There are so many good lessons to teach, why this?
