Some of My Puppetry Background
Q: Why do you write puppet scripts? What motivates you?
Mainly for the children at my church usually to go along with the topic I am teaching on. The children enjoy puppets and tend to pay more attention
Q: Tell us about your church or puppet organisation.
I started Teabba ministries because i noticed that children learn better in a fun atmosphere where they are able to see and experience what they are being taught. Teabba stands for Themed environments and Bible based adventures. My goal is to create Biblical theme based curriculum's for Sunday school.
Q: How did you get started in puppets and what attracted you to this area?
It a great tool for teaching. I used puppets back in the 80s for Sunday school after that it has become like the frosting on a cake.
Q: Where does your inspiration come from to write puppet scripts?
Hands Down that would be Jesus, through the guidance of His spirit
Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting out in puppetry?
grab on with both hands, Its a fun ride.
Q: Who are your favourite puppet characters and what do you like about them?
I like professional shows with all the effects, not any one puppet but I like them from these shows; the Muppet show, Fraggle Rock, Gerbert and Sesame Street. These shows were well done. My fav i guess has to be Kermit the Frog
Q: What are the most important qualities in great puppet scripts?
humor is important, Scripts that help in showing children biblical truth's are always important. being able to capture a child's attention and Imagination are also key.
Q: What would you do if you were a puppet?
hopefully I would have the Lord as my puppeteer that way I can do what ever He wants. It would take away all uncertainty. That's for sure Being a puppet in the masters hand.
