Q: Why do you write puppet scripts? What motivates you?
I write them because I head up preschool/nursery puppets for my church, I love making scripts that contain the pure word of God. I love writing scripts because I feel like it's easy way to express what the Lord is teaching the kids in the class.
Q: Tell us about your church or puppet organisation.
I love my church because we teach the whole word of God Verse by verse our CM team is trusted, and we have awesome puppets. We use puppets in a verity of ways and are always looking for new ideas and new puppets to join the team. We love to reach kids with the gospel presented in puppets and drama.
Q: How did you get started in puppets and what attracted you to this area?
I started when I was fresh out of Sunday school I always was a little crazy, I saw great opportunities to reach kids by using puppets. Further, my sunday school teacher would always tell me I had a future in puppets! I was recruited when I was 12
Q: Where does your inspiration come from to write puppet scripts?
The Lord and the Bible! Nothing but the Bible! Holy Spirit! and sometimes the occasionally Sesame
Street show!
Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting out in puppetry?
Be patient the ability to do it well takes time. I've been doing it for almost 6 years and I'm far from perfect. Pray about everything you do in puppets.Get to know your puppets as well, know what they like and dislike what makes them, sad and happy, develop a personality. Also, have fun! treat puppets as real life!
Q: Who are your favourite puppet characters and what do you like about them?
Mine that I do are, Squeaky clean and Fran the french chef! Squeaky clean is a fun lovable alien friend who likes everything to be really clean!
Fran is a fun french chef who is learning english and loves to talk about food and America!
my other favorites are cookie monster, Oscar the grouch, and Animal from the Muppets!
Q: What are the most important qualities in great puppet scripts?
Humor, Lessons from the bible, and uniqueness of the characters. I love it when there is consistency in the scripts, always using the same puppets so the kids get to know them.
Q: What would you do if you were a puppet?
Be a Pastor! the pulpit would have to be small
