Some of My Puppetry Background
Q: Why do you write puppet scripts? What motivates you?
The need for something specific or to go with a certain ouooet I have to work with.
Q: Tell us about your church or puppet organisation.
NPC is a church of approx. 300 members. Fun loving, caring and giving are just a few words to describe us. We love to bring laughter into the sanctuary and puppetry is a great way to do that!
Q: How did you get started in puppets and what attracted you to this area?
Just the fun way to bring smiles to the children (adults too). I think I was first drawn to the puppeets actually, then the puppetry grew from there.
Q: Where does your inspiration come from to write puppet scripts?
Have only written a couple but I always go to prayer for inspiration.
Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting out in puppetry?
Relax!! It's easier than it looks.
Q: Who are your favourite puppet characters and what do you like about them?
I like to work with animals the most or dressing up characters to be similar to members of the congregation.(big hit!)
Q: What are the most important qualities in great puppet scripts?
Keep it simple. If the story is too complicated the fidgeting starts. Keep it clear too.
Q: What would you do if you were a puppet?
I would want to have arms that moved as easily as my mouth.
