Some of My Puppetry Background |
Q: Why do you write puppet scripts? What motivates you? |
I love to teach children the Word of God and make them laugh. |
Q: Tell us about your church or puppet organisation. |
I serve 2 churches in central MN. We use puppet skits during our Wed. night program. |
Q: How did you get started in puppets and what attracted you to this area? |
Well, I got involved with puppet ministry on a few bible school teams and it has been a great outlet to have fun and connecting with the kids. |
Q: Where does your inspiration come from to write puppet scripts? |
Not answered yet. |
Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting out in puppetry? |
Build up your arm strength!!!!! If you do puppetry in the park, make sure you bring heavy things to weigh down the puppet stage as the curtains really can act like sails sometimes. Also, don't always feel tied to the script, let your personality come through and AD-LIB! |
Q: Who are your favourite puppet characters and what do you like about them? |
Animal from the Muppets. He's just wild. |
Q: What are the most important qualities in great puppet scripts? |
The Word of God being central. It's okay to have just fun puppet skits too though. Puppet interaction with the children but sometimes you just have to ad-lib this. |
Q: What would you do if you were a puppet? |
I would change my hairstyle with a rip of the velcro. |
