Some of My Puppetry Background
Q: Why do you write puppet scripts? What motivates you?
My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He motivates me greatly. I also write scripts so I can help kids ages 6-12. It is a good way to teach Christian truths to help them overcome current and future problems.
Q: Tell us about your church or puppet organisation.
Our ministries name is This ol House Junior Church Ministry.I like using puppets to teach because these puppets represent a family, it is easier to apply God's truths.
Q: How did you get started in puppets and what attracted you to this area?
We were a part of the junior ministry at a previous church and saw first hand the results of how God would reach those children.
Q: Where does your inspiration come from to write puppet scripts?
The Lord Jesus Christ, He creates all things. Just like a sermon, He will give me a thought or after I read something I'll get a idea, this is how the scripts come to be.
Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting out in puppetry?
Know the Lord as your personal Savior and let the Holy Spirit lead you in all walks of your life. Also get involved with a church where puppets are this will help educate you.
Q: Who are your favourite puppet characters and what do you like about them?
Although our main characters are a mother and father and two siblings, we also introduce 15 other puppets from time to time. And my favorite would be Humphrey the camel.
Q: What are the most important qualities in great puppet scripts?
Using biblical teaching to apply these truths to the childrens life.
Q: What would you do if you were a puppet?
In some ways we are like a puppet in that we are completely used by God to perform what His perfect plans for our life is. He is the Hand.
