Q: Why do you write puppet scripts? What motivates you?
We feel like we can make a difference in peoples lives in a very big way, especially in kids. We want to be a blessing, we believe that through puppets God can use us when there might be some other place where we can't serve. Our motivation is a changed life and the fact that the kids can understand the message that we are teaching.
Q: Tell us about your church or puppet organisation.
GAP existed for about eight years. We have done many performances at our church (Granite Baptist Church), plus a few performances in Nassau,Bahamas. We love the puppets and we hope that the ministry helps many people
Q: How did you get started in puppets and what attracted you to this area?
I always loved puppets, so I decided to start a ministry that would be a big helper in our childrens church. I was first inspired by Tim Watts, one of the best puppetteers I know.
Q: Where does your inspiration come from to write puppet scripts?
Not answered yet.
Q: What advice would you give to someone just starting out in puppetry?
Pray! God can use your ministry. Be excited about what you are doing. If you are not excited, no one else will be either. Also, scripts are pointless. Thats right, I said it. When going through this site take out the main gags and lesson that the script has to offer and then adlib the rest. Personality is pulled out whenever you adlib, and that is what the difference os between a script and a real skit.
Q: Who are your favourite puppet characters and what do you like about them?
Nick is my favorite and main character. He is my alter ego. I compare him to Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse (although not quite as famous!)
Q: What are the most important qualities in great puppet scripts?
I think a skit needs to have a good lesson in it but the skit also has to be fun and attention-grabbing
Q: What would you do if you were a puppet?
I would meet Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy
