Moving, but Grown Up (Rated by: ) Posted February 26 2012

Great script with a great message. But children aren't into just talking. This would be a great script to put on for adults, but what adults whatch puppets? And how do you portray the cage with the birds? I really did like it, just don't see how applicable it is.

Just great story telling 100%!!!
good/bad (Rated by: ) Posted October 17 2010

The concept imagery is good, but Jesus didnt pay the devil anything. He paid the debt of our sin, the 'payment' was to the Father to satisfy His anger against sin. So bad theology can confuse. The cross was about the Father and the Sons obedience, in it the devil was defeated! Amen :)
an "A-plus"! (Rated by: Thomas) Posted October 15 2010

This is life-affirming. All is possible in Christ!
No Heading (Rated by: Anonymous) Posted August 17 2010

Doctrinally incorrect, this gives Satan more power than is worthy of him. Christ's blood was shed to appease the righteousness of God, Satan had nothing to do with it. I believe we need to be extremely careful not to tread on the side of error...especially with children.

I won't lie, this is one of the most moving pieces I've read, puppet show or otherwise. Tears.

Ransom theory is heresy. Jesus did not buy us from the devil; he was punished for our sins and ransomed our life from death. If the cross was a payment to the devil, satan would still own Jesus unless God was a liar & indian giver. Either way bad theology to confuse kids with.

I liked your use of a physical object, the cage, to explain the release Jesus provides to people. The visual aspect of this play is well planned.

Good concept, yet echoing an earlier comment. Jesus did not pay the ransom to Satan but to His Father. Our sins hold us in debt to God not Satan. See parable of the Unforgiving Servant.

Very good way to tell the children why Jesus has to die for us. The only -ve is that it does not really show how man got into Satan's trap in the first place.

excellent story (Rated by: ) Posted March 28 2005

this is a very good story. It really made the kids think just how much love & compassion Jesus had for this dieing world. the adults were very moved. the story in our show was told from a six yr old child's point of view. She was in the main service and was listening to what happen to her pastor on his way to Easter service.

Theology Problem (Rated by: ) Posted April 25 2004

Rating: 1

Satan never demanded Jesus to die, tears or blood. God demanded it. Satan did not want Jesus to die on the cross,ie, Herod. The skit is not sound doctrinally.

This is just what I was looking for (Rated by: ) Posted March 20 2003

Rating: 9

I will use this very soon. It moved me and is sure to move my "flock." On the criticism side, I might tone down the scarieness of the idea of mankind in a cage. Or maybe that's the point. I'll fiddle with it and maybe I'll write you'all an e-mail to tell you how this play went over with the kids. Thank you.
